Today, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, H.H. Pope Tawadros II received the Lebanese Minister of Interior and the judge Bassam Mawlawi and that is during their visit to Egypt.
The Minister mentioned during the meeting that it is his first time to visit Egypt, expressing his happiness over the invitation of the Egyptian Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfik to him to visit Egypt.
H.H. welcomed him and he spoke about the history of the Coptic Orthodox Church and the history of Egypt from the Roman era until the entry of Islam to it , stressing that the Egyptian people live in love and harmony throughout the years.
H.H. commended the good relationship between the Church with the Government, Al Azhar and other Christian denominations.
At the end of the visit, H.H. presented a memorial gift to the Minister and to his accompanying delegation, wishing them a great time in Egypt.
