Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II delivered a lecture titled “Important Principles in the Life of a Priest”, at the conclusion of the training course for new priests, that was organised by the Coptic Institute for Church Management and Development, led by Dr Magdy Latif El Sanady, the Dean of the Institute. It was held over six days at Logos Papal Center at the Papal Residence in Wadi El Natroun. It was attended by 48 priests that were ordained during the Nativity Fast and are spending the forty days after ordination at the monasteries of Wadi El Natroun.
H.H. discussed 7 important points in the service of the priest which are:
1- The key to the heart is love
2- The right thoughts are based on the Holy Bible
3- Beware of ego as an enemy
4- Renewal is a continuous need to the service
5- Be a part of the Church’s continued growth
6- Always have a vision for the future
7- Know that the end of a thing is better that its beginning
H.H. than run a discussion with the priests about what they have benefited from the training and about their lives and new services at the church.
The course activities included the concepts and practical methods in Church management, institutional works in the church, pillars of wise management (good administration and governance in the church), principles of development from a Christian perspective and the role of the priest in managing the church as an institutional work system.
This is the sixth training for new priests in church management, since it was established by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, as it was implemented with five groups of priests who were ordained by His Holiness, starting in 2018.
This training comes as an implementation of the recommendations of the eighth Seminar of the Holy Synod that was held in November 2021.
