This evening, before the weekly sermon, H.H. Pope Tawadros II lamented the passing away of Late Bishop Kyrollos, Bishop of Nagaa Hammadi, who passed away last Thursday. His Holiness said: “Last week, we farewell an great Bishop from the Church’s bishops, Late Bishop Kyrollos, Bishop of the Diocese of Nahaa Hammadi and its affiliated regions. H.G. Late Bishop made great efforts in the Diocese over 45 years. He served in this diocese a wide service. He began with a small diocese, but as a result of his service, the reconstruction he carried out, the ordination he carried out, and the devotion of young men or women to service, the service was able to expand. In recent years, he suffered from illness which caused him to be bed bound and to go to the hospital more than once, and he rested in peace last week. We farewell him, remembering his services, his love, his efforts and we ask him to pray for all of us.” H.H. then added: “During His Grace’s illness, we formed a committee of three bishops that are near by to help H.G. in managing the Diocese, and of course, after H.G. passing away, the three Bishops will remain there to manage the Diocese until further future plans. Meanwhile, they will present reports about the service, works, priests and servants so we can have a full image of the Diocese and pray that God choses a good shepherd for it.”
