Today, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II witnessed a ceremony organized by the Papal Office for Projects on the occasion of its tenth anniversary.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nevin El Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, Ambassador Suha Gendy, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Ambassador Nabila Makram, Former Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, and a number of ambassadors and public figures. The ceremony was also attended by a number of Metropolitans, Bishops and priests.
During the ceremony, many projects that are completed by the office during the past ten years since its establishment were presented.
During conclusion, His Holiness delivered a speech in which H.H. addressed the role of the Church in serving society, pointing to the importance of supporting the state in its efforts to support the sustainable development process.
H.H. established the Papal Office for Projects to serve the Egyptian Society in 2013, and it provides its services in cooperation with the fathers, metropolitans and bishops in the dioceses, through four programmes, namely:
– Egypt’s Eyes Education Program.
– Kimi Health Services Program.
– Rakoti program for institutional development and capacity building.
– San Mark’s Humanitarian Aid Program
Since its establishment, the Papal Office has completed 64 large projects and 210 small (individual) projects, and has been able to reach nearly 28 thousand beneficiaries with its services.
