His Holiness Pope Tawadros II commended the new edition of the Four Gospels recently issued by the Theological College.
This came during the sermon at the weekly Wednesday meeting that he held this evening at the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Bishoy in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbaseya.
His Holiness said:
“The Theological College issued the Four Gospels in Coptic and Arabic, and this is an updated and revised edition of an edition that appeared about a hundred years ago, from the days of the departed Saint Habib Gerges, who was considered responsible for education in the church since the days of Pope Kyrollos V. This edition was issued in a beautiful and elegant way, with a very good scientific investigation, and many people participated in it, and we thank our Lord that it is a great cultural product, from which we can know the language and its grammar, and through it we can know the text and the phrases used in it, and this covers the Four Gospels.”
