This morning (Tuesday) H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the diocese of Milan’s Residence, Monsignor Mario Delpini, Archbishop of Milan of the Catholic Church, who came to welcome His Holiness.
His Holiness expressed his happiness over the Archbishop’s visit, considering it an extension of the love that began with His Holiness’s visit to H.H. Pope Francis: “We held meetings which all prove the serious pursuit for love and unity. We then came to Milan, which has a long history, strong testimony and Christian message that bears witness to Christ. We are joyful because of this trip, and with your visit to us today.”
The Archbishop thanked His Holiness for his words and love, indicating that he admires the role of the Coptic Church in terms of her concern for children, especially those in the churches of the lands of immigration, and the Mother Church’s continuous encouragement of them.
His Holiness replied: “Faith produces a pious generation, and we in the Coptic Church have “Sunday School.” We all, including the bishops and priests with me here attended Sunday School, and were taught in the bosom of our Church until we joined youth meetings, which have now became very difficult to serve in. Nevertheless, the Church strives to take care of her youth and to raise a pious generation that serves the Church and society.”
