His Holiness Pope Tawadros II witnessed, this evening, Tuesday, a ceremony honoring the graduates of the Saint Didymus Institute for Choirs in Cairo, which was held at St. Rwis Theater in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbaseya, which is organized by the institute in coordination with St. Athanasius Theological College in Los Angeles, according to the cooperation agreement signed between the college and the institute.

The choir teams lined up on the stairs of the theater building and sang hymns in the reception of His Holiness the Pope, who was keen to take memorial photos with them.

While the chorus of deacons of the Didymus Institute led the procession of His Holiness during his entry into the theater hall, singing the melodies of welcoming the Patriarch.

The ceremony included, in addition to a group of melodies recited by the Institute’s chorus, words by Fr. Fam St. Bishoy, the supervisor of the Institute, Archdeacon Ibrahim Ayad, graduate George Wahib (from Los Angeles), and His Grace Bishop Kyrillos, the General Bishop of Los Angeles.

The speakers were keen to congratulate His Holiness on his recovery and his return to practice his pastoral activities.

The ceremony concluded with a speech by His Holiness and honoring the graduates.

The ceremony was attended by the priests of the church, Their Eminences Metropolitan Serapion, Metropolitan of Los Angeles, and Metropolitan Daniel, Metropolitan of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod, H.G. Bishop Kyrillos, General Bishop of Los Angeles, and H.G. Bishop Mikhail, General Bishop of Hadaia El Qobba & El-Waili, Cairo and vice-rector of the seminary college in St. Rwis.
