His Holiness Pope Tawadros II prayed this evening, prayers on the eve of the announcement of the ascension of the body of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, in the Church of St. Virgin Mary and the Archangel Michael in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, as part of his current visit to Hungary.
His Holiness was received upon his arrival at the church by H.G. Bishop Giovanni, Bishop of Central Europe, Fr. Youssef Khalil, Priest of the Coptic Church in Hungary, while the church was filled with people who came to meet their father.
After the end of the evening prayers, the church’s choir presented a number of spiritual hymns and Coptic melodies, and His Holiness the Pope, commending them for what they presented, and fulfilled their request to take memorial photos with His Holiness.
Then, H.H. delivered a spiritual speech entitled “Containment is one of the treasures of the virtues of the Virgin Mary.” H.H. mentioned an example of the Virgin Mary’s way of dealing with the problem of lack of wine at the wedding at Cana of Galilee. “And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” (John 2:3).
H.H. pointed out: The importance of wisdom in dealing with problems through prayer and hope.
His Holiness recommended four steps to contain the problems we face in life, through:
1- The feeling of the other
2- Maintaining friendship with the other and not fighting
3- Establishing periods for understanding, because the most precious thing a person can give to another is time
4- Humility and submission.
After the end of the sermon, His Holiness congratulated the audience on the feast of the Virgin Mary, and he was keen to give the opportunity to all those present to greet him and to receive the blessing from their father and their shepherd.
