His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received at the papal residence in Cairo on Sunday the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Cairo, Ambassador Roberto Ebert.

During the meeting, His Holiness the Pope presented an overview of the history of the Coptic Orthodox Church, its current spread around the world, and the Church’s spiritual and developmental role. The dialogue also addressed the good relationship of the Church with the government, Al-Azhar, and all other churches.
For his part, the ambassador praised the strong relationship between Chile and Egypt, expressing his hope to increase cooperation between the two countries, and also his hope for the presence of a Coptic church in Chile soon.
