His Holiness Pope Tawadros II witnessed, Monday evening, the celebration of the Theological Seminary College at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Mount Qusqam, in Qusia, Assiut (Deir Muharraq), on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of its opening (1973 – 2023).
The golden jubilee celebration was attended, in addition to H.G. Bishop Begol, Bishop and Abbot of the Muharraq Monastery and the Director of the College, 12 bishops of the Church, and a large number of priests, monks, deacons, and servants who are graduates of the College.
The program of the celebration, which bore the name “Qasqam Lighthouse – Ambassadors for Christ,” included a group of paragraphs chronicling the journey of the Muharraq Seminary, its professors and students. Several speeches were delivered and was concluded with a speech by His Holiness.
At the end of the ceremony, His Holiness honored the deputies and directors of the college and the current and departed college members.
