Today, Thursday, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II visited the Monastery of Saint Macarius the Great (Abu Makar Monastery) in the Shehit Desert, as part of His Holiness’ follow-up on the management of work in the monastery in all its aspects.

Upon his arrival, His Holiness prayed the Prayer of Thanksgiving in the main church, and was blessed by the relics of the monastery’s saints. Then H.H. held a spiritual session with the assembly of monastic fathers and delivered a spiritual speech to them, contemplating on Psalm 139 and discussing with them some of its meanings. H.H. listened to the monks’ questions and answered them.
Then His Holiness met with them at the Aghapy table and presented them with a souvenir.
At the end of the visit, a photo was taken of the monks with His Holiness.
