The youth of the Diocese of Milan presented a book entitled “The Power of Love” as a gift to Pope Tawadros. They presented its content in a short film during His Holiness’ meeting with them in the Church of the Annunciation in Milan on Friday.
The book tells the true story of a young man from Milan named Marco. As a child, his mind was preoccupied with the image and characteristics of a hero. He believed that the true hero is a peacemaker, loving, loved by others and helps everyone in need.
Whilst the child Marco was in a Sunday School class, the servant spoke with the children about love and gave an example of H.H. Pope Tawadros II, who cares very much for children, loves the Church and loves his country. At the end of the lesson, she gave Marco a piece of paper containing the verse “Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8), written in the handwriting of His Holiness.
Marco decided to make this verse a slogan for his life and was interested in applying it, to achieve the image of the “hero” that he sought to reach. He began to follow His Holiness, and clearly saw in His Holiness’ works the application of love in all his dealings and in his relationships with everyone. His mind began to be occupied with the idea of meeting His Holiness one day and hugging him.
Marco grew up and became a young man. His story was known in his church, so the youth of the church decided to make a short film about Marco’s story, which was shown at the youth meeting with His Holiness. After the film ended, Marco went to His Holiness and introduced himself. Pope Tawadros embraced him amidst the applause of the youth present.
The youth prepared a book that contained the story and presented it today to His Holiness, who was very happy and grateful for it.
