At the beginning of his sermon at Wednesday’s weekly meeting today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II affirmed that the Church’s sympathy for the brethren in Palestine is not just verbal sympathy. His Holiness explained: “Through the Bishopric of Services, we launched an initiative to provide aid and in-kind or material donations of food, medicines, health supplies, and blankets, given the approach of the harsh winter in these areas.”
His Holiness called on his children to provide aid to their churches, which will collect and transfer it to Saint Mark’s Center, adjacent to the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saint Athanasius in Nasr City, Cairo, stressing that it is an opportunity to participate even with the simplest thing.
Pope Tawadros explained that aid will enter Gaza through the National Labor Alliance, of which the Church is a part, among many aids provided by Egypt and other countries, and the crossing is the only port for this aid to enter.
His Holiness called for prayers to preserve our people, to protect them, to stop the strikes and the use of weapons, and to stop the war, which is rejected by people and God.
