His Holiness Pope Tawadros II mourned the death of Dean Dr. Adel Tawfeek, the servant of the Saint Pantinus family of university professors
This came before the start of His Holiness’ sermon at the weekly Wednesday meeting, which H.H. held this evening at the LOGOS Papal Center in Saint Bishoy’s Monastery in Wadi Natroun
His Holiness said: “We bid farewell two days ago to the great professor and teacher… Professor Dr. Engineer Adel Tawfeek,
a person who served the nation faithfully and with his knowledge and studies as a university professor at Suez University. He also served in the ranks of the armed forces as a brigadier general in the air force, and was recognized for his sincerity and diligence.
He also served the church and founded the Pantinus family of university professors, which is one of the prestigious services that includes more than 200 university professors nationwide and provides various services (engineering, accounting, and social services).
He served his family, who lived in God’s fear. His wife passed away about a year or two ago, and he has 3 daughters who were married in different areas, and they lived in God’s fear. We bid him farewell in the hope of resurrection. He is a person I personally love for his integrity, sincerity, diligence, cheerfulness, and non-stop service, to the point that he passed away while attending a meeting of the Council of Egypt Churches.
We offer our condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues, students, his church (St Anthony’s Church in Shobra) and the Pantinus family..
“The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance”.
