The Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, mourns the great writer Yacoub El Sharouni, who left our mortal world today at the age of 92 after presenting many masterpieces that enriched children’s literature over more than six decades.

We ask the Lord for comfort for the soul of the late creator, and for condolences to his family, fans, and readers, knowing that his work and his impact remain in the minds and souls of everyone who reads his timeless literature.
