O King of peace
Grant us Your peace
Establish for us Your peace
And forgive us our sins
We thank You, O Lord, for giving us this past year and bringing us to its end. Behold, we are preparing to welcome a new year from Your kind hand, knowing that Your eye is on us from the beginning of the year to its end, leading our steps and preparing our way for You are the God of our salvation.
We thank You, O Lord, the Lover of Mankind, for Your many gifts every morning.
We thank You, O Lord, for everything, concerning everything, and in everything.
We thank You, O Lord, for You have covered us, helped us, guarded us, supported us, and have brought us to this hour.
We have seen You, O Lord, the Maker of good things in our lives.
Your care for us is evident through Your gifts of air, water, sun, nature, firmament, day, night, trees, and plants that adorn our lives and give us food and nourishment for us and for all living beings that give us good food in due season.
You have given us health, power, and blessing in our lives, our land, our homes, our churches, and our countries.
As we look back at our lives – we have fallen into mistakes, sins, oversights, actions, and thoughts that do not satisfy Your goodness, O Lover of Mankind.
We have done hidden and manifest sins, willingly and unwillingly.
Many times, O Lord, we have not neglected our spiritual, psychological, and physical life.
Many times, O Lord, we have transgressed Your commandments or forgotten them.
Many times, O Lord, our love has become cold towards some people: relatives, friends, and colleagues, and we have heard Your voice and rebuke, saying, “I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen…” (Revelation 2:4,5).
Behold, we come at Your feet, asking for Your forgiveness and satisfaction, begging for Your mercy and kindness for all our weaknesses, trusting that You, O my Lord, while You are on the Cross shedding Your precious blood for our sins and weaknesses, and Your blood purifies every sin.
O Lord, listen.
O Lord, give ear.
O Lord, respond.
O our good Master, we have become weary in many days and hardships almost suffocated us.
However, in hope and faith, we lift our hearts, asking for Your tender hand to accompany us, support us, and establish us.
Sometimes O Lord we get tired of some people and their actions towards us or You…and cry out to You, saying, “How long O Lord will You forget us?! Do not turn Your face away from us, but be kind, and do not deal with us according to our weakness.”
O our good God, the Pantocrator to the young and the old, and those far and near, straighten our thoughts and the evil desires of our hearts.
Fix this unstable world from the waves of violence, wars, and conflicts that take away all peace from hearts.
Have mercy on us O Lord from the cruelty of hearts that does not glorify Your name, O great Creator.
Have mercy on the world from the people of arrogant hearts that are the cause of harming people: women, children, and men anywhere.
You have come, O good Master, to give people joy, happiness, and gladness in every place.
You have come to be the source of peace and tranquility for everyone in need.
You have come and dwelt in our land out of Your love for us – for every human being You have created.
You have come so that we may feel and get closer to Your great love, Your glorious presence in our lives, and the shining of light in our hearts.
However, our sins brought us darkness and cruelty until we were lost in this life.
Yet, we come back and ask for You, O Light of the world, that You may not enlighten the hearts and eyes, and give Your light to every soul that is lost, mislaid, or has forgotten Your existence, O great God.
We call on You, O Lord, with tears in our hearts for the wounded, the hopeless, and those who have wasted their lives in vain and turned away from Your salvation.
Remember, O Lord, the peace of the world, the peace of Your Church, and service everywhere.
Remember, O Lord, the peace of our country and our land, Egypt, all the people, and all the honest officials who govern in our lives.
We pray to You for the sick, the weary, the heavy-laden, and those in distress or hardship; for the sake of Your young sons and daughters, and the youth; for every family to keep in Your fear, oversee their livelihood, and bless their deeds and their lives.
We pray to You for the metropolitans, bishops, priests, deacons, male and female servants, male and female consecrated individuals, monks, and nuns.
We pray to You for the weak and incapable souls; for the souls that yearn for You, to live with You, and to enjoy Your salvation and redemption.
O my Lord Jesus Christ, the Beloved of the soul, the Companion of life, fill the world with Your mercy. Soften the hearts of those who govern us. Keep us with Your holy name that is a strong tower for everyone who takes refuge in You.
Remember us O Lord through the intercession of our holy mother St. Mary, the pride of our race, and St. Mark the Apostle, the patron saint of our land, and all the saints, the righteous and the just, and the blessing of these holy days, Your presence, and Your Incarnation for the salvation of every human.
To You is all glory, honor, and worship, forever. Amen.
