Today, Monday, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II congratulated His Beatitude the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theodoros II, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, on Christmas, which falls today according to the Western calendar.
This came during the visit made by His Holiness to the Residence of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, in the Hamzawi area in Cairo, this afternoon, accompanied by a church delegation, where H.H.congratulated His Beatitude the Patriarch and the bishops on this occasion.
Words of congratulations and love were exchanged between His Holiness the Pope and His Beatitude the Patriarch.
During the congratulatory visit, His Holiness the Pope was accompanied by H.E. Metropolitan Daniel, Metropolitan of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod, H.G. Bishop Yolios, General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Bishopric of Services, H.G. Bishop Angelos, General Bishop of the Churches of the Northern Shoubra Sector, Fr Sergius Sergius, Patriarchal Vicar in Cairo, and Father Kyrillos St. Bishoy, Director of His Holiness’ Office, Father Raphael Ramzy and Deacon Joseph Reda from the Office of His Holiness the Pope, and Dr. Girgis Saleh, Honorary Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches.
