Today, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II perfumed the relics of Saint John Kama, the priest, located in the Monastery of the Virgin Mary (Syrian) in Wadi Natroun.
His Holiness visited the monastery this evening and was received by H.G. Bishop Mattaeus, Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery. H.H. went to the ancient church, where H.H. prayed the prayer of thanksgiving and perfumed the relics, with the participation of a number of bishops, amid melodies and praises of joy that were chanted by the monks of the monastery.
His Holiness had a loving session with the congregation of monks of the monastery, during which His Holiness delivered a speech on the occasion of the approaching end of the year and the beginning of the new year.
On the 25th of Koiahk (next Thursday), the Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of the Departure of Saint John Kama.
