H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo today (Tuesday), Rev. Dr. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community of Egypt, who led a delegation consisting of: the General Evangelical Council, Heads and Leaders of Evangelical Denominations, the Evangelical College of Theology, and the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services. They congratulated His Holiness on the glorious Feast of Nativity.
H.H. the Pope welcomed the evangelical delegation, and spoke about the blessings of the birth of the Lord Christ, who gave us a new beginning, peace, hope for a better life, and announced God’s eternal love for man.
His Holiness answered his guests’ questions in a friendly and loving atmosphere.
For his part, Reverend Andrea Zaki expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the warm reception, noting that Pope Tawadros is a symbol of Christians in the world and not only in Egypt. He also praised the role His Holiness plays in the Church and the country.
