H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the papal headquarters in Cairo today (Wednesday), His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and Dr. Shawky Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt.

His Eminence the Imam was accompanied by the President of Al-Azhar University, and a delegation from the leaders of the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom and the Egyptian Family House.

Pope Tawadros welcomed his guests, wishing them a new year full of goodness and blessings.

For his part, His Eminence the Imam extended congratulations to His Holiness the Pope, in his name and in the name of His Eminence the Mufti and the accompanying delegation, on the occasion of the beginning of the new year and the glorious Feast of Nativity, wishing His Holiness and all Egyptian Christians blessed days.
