His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, during his speech on the eve of the ordination and enthronement of a number of bishops in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbaseya, today, Saturday, thanked His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for congratulating the Egyptian people on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan and Lent. His Holiness the Pope’s speech in this regard was as follows:
“We thank Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who congratulated the people of Egypt, our Muslim brothers on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, and the Christians on the occasion of Great Lent, in his speech today.”
This came after what His Excellency President El Sisi said during his speech today at the Armed Forces educational symposium on the occasion of Martyr’s Day, today, as he offered congratulations to Egyptian Muslims and Christians on the approaching month of Ramadan and Great Lent, as the beginnings of the two fasts coincide this year, next Monday, March 11.
