Today, H.G. Bishop Kyrollos, Bishop of Naga Hammadi rested in peace, after a long struggle with illness. Funeral prayers will be held this evening at 5pm at St Badaba monastery in Nagaa Hammadi.
“Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works shall follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)
H.H. Pope Tawadros II and the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church, farewell with the hope of Resurrection, H.G. Bishop Kyrollos, Bishop of Nagaa Hammadi, who rested in peace today at the age of 74 and after 49 years of monasticism, and where he served the Diocese of Nagaa Hammadi for 45 years.
H.G. Bishop Kyrollos have served his children with the spirit of fatherhood and love and he has endured a lot of temptations that he faced and dealt with them by honesty and wisdom, hence, he was loved by his children in the Diocese and everyone who knew or met him.
H.G. have endured illness for a long period of time without complaining, but rather by thanksgiving and faith towards Heaven and the Kingdom that is prepared for us from the foundation of the world.
May his soul rest in peace and our condolences to the priests, servants and congregation and of the Diocese.
