Today, Friday, H.H. Pope Tawadros II witnessed the discussion of the doctoral dissertation of H.G. Bishop Makary, General Bishop of Southern Shoubra, in the department of Liturgy and worship, at the Theological College at St Rewise, which was titled “Saints’ Feasts in Liturgy”.
A discussion committee was formed and included Archdeacon Dr Roshdy Wassef, as a head and supervisor, Dr Saeed Hakeem, as a supervisor and member, Fr Gregorious Rashidy as a member, Dr Naglaa Hamdy, as a member.
After the discussion, the committee decided to grant a Ph.D. degree with excellent grades and honours.
The discussion was attended by H.G. Bishop Mikhael, General Bishop of Hadaia El Qobba & El-Waili and the Vicar of the College, H.G. Bishop Makar, Bishop of El Sharkia Citis & 10th Ramadan City, H.G. Bishop Angelos, General Bishop of Northern Shoubra, and H.G. Bishop Marcos, Bishop of Damietta, Kafr El Sheikh & ElBarari.
After the discussion, H.H. delivered a speech where he congratulated H.G. Bishop Makary and the members of the College, referring to the high academic level of the thesis which made H.H. keen to attend it, pointing that this level should be a measure of the messages that will be discussed in the College in the future, which contributes to the continuous growth of the Theological College and the Coptic library in general.
