Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II held the annual meeting with priests of Social Care in Upper Egypt Dioceses, from Aswan to Minya, totally 30 dioceses.
Fr. Bishoy Sharl, secretary of Social Care Service, made a presentation and spoke about the project of “King’s Daughter” which covers all the needs for girls and their marriage in the future. Also the project of “Teach Your Son” which cares about small groups of study for students in order to support them educationally. As well as the project of “Blessing Bag” which is caring about thousands of families, and also the project of “school expenses” especially during Covid-19.
H.H. delivered a speech and spotted three points:
- Data: it is important to update the families data regularly; through keeping up with the developments of their status.
- Services: Taking care of developing their service permanently for their lives benefit.
- Crisis: Standing with them in times of crisis whether social, psychological, or health.
H.H. calls for permanent care of God Brothers, pointing to the verse of (Matthew 26: 11): ” For you have the poor with you always”; which means that they are with us always and we must not forget them ever.
His Holiness stressed on the necessity of churches commitment to allocate 30% from the budget of every church to brothers of God and development projects.
Moreover, His Holiness honoured the first five who participated in the project of “Teach Your Son” from Malawi Diocese, and also the project supervisors from the same diocese.
