His Holiness Pope Tawadros II inaugurated, on Saturday evening, the renovations that took place in the area between the entrance to St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria and the entrance to the Patriarchal Court there.The renovations included documenting God’s care during the terrorist bombing incident in St Mark’s on Palm Sunday 2017, and placing pictures of the martyrs of the incident from the church and the police at the entrance to the cathedral in honour of their memory. The renovation also included the area up to the entrance to the Papal Court.
One of the real estate development companies bore the cost of the renovations, as a gift from it to the church in Alexandria.
The inauguration was attended by the Bishops of the Commons supervising the pastoral sectors in Alexandria, H.G. Bishop Pavly (Montazah District), H.G. Bishop Elarioun (West sector), H.G. Bishop Hermina (East Sector), Fr. Abram Emil, the Patriarchate’s representative in Alexandria, and Monk Fr. Kirolos St. Bishoy, director of the office of His Holiness the Pope.
