His Holiness Pope Tawadros II opened this evening, Wednesday, the “Beautiful Dove” services building in the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saint Pope Kyrillos the Pillar of Faith in the Cleopatra area in Alexandria.
The “Beautiful Dove” building includes an event hall, Sunday school classrooms, a large meeting hall, a cultural center, and a games hall.
This came within the framework of His Holiness’s visit to the church to deliver the weekly Wednesday meeting sermon there.

In the opening of the meeting’s sermon, His Holiness commended the history of the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saint Pope Kyrillos, the pillar of faith, thanking its fathers and people for their love and interest in developing the church, pointing to the efforts of Saint Father Bishoy Kamel in building the church.
His Holiness shared some of his personal memories of the church when Father Bishoy Kamel built a small church, when His Holiness was a student at Alexandria University and participated in a youth meeting organized by “Father Bishoy” in this church, and that he visited the church several times.
His Holiness commended the role of Major General Abdel Salam Mahjoub, the former governor of Alexandria, and his permission to expand and renew the church. H.H. also commended the efforts of His Holiness late Pope Shenouda III in taking care of it as well.
