His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, at the beginning of his sermon at the weekly Wednesday meeting, which was held in the Church of Saint Anthony in Zahraa El Maadi in Cairo, spoke today about the “Story of a Homeland” conference that was held a few days ago in the New Administrative Capital.
H.H. said that he attended the opening session and followed some sessions of the “Story of a Homeland” conference that was held in the past few days in the presence of His Excellency the President and officials of all sectors of the state. His Holiness pointed out that Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly reviewed in a scientific and statistical manner what had been accomplished in the past nine years, in terms of Capabilities added, projects established quantitatively and qualitatively.
His Holiness said that this confirms what His Excellency the President always points out, that we seek to build a state, and His Holiness demonstrated this by saying that anyone who wants to build a building or a church needs five or six years, so what about when we want to build a state? There is no doubt that It takes many years, work, effort and dedication.
H.H. called for watching the presentation presented by the Prime Minister and the ministers about what happened in the land of Egypt, stressing that it is a matter of pride that we all participate in these days, in building our state.
His Holiness added that we must be certain that Egypt will become a developed country thanks to hard work.
H.H. pointed out that among the most prominent achievements of the Egyptian state is the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, stressing that it saved and is still saving millions of those who were living in slums, and that the state, through “Decent Life,” built modern buildings for those who lived in slums, and H.H. added that the initiative saved millions from health costs and social and psychological risks to the lives of children and adults.
His Holiness concluded his speech in this regard by saying: “We thank God for what has been accomplished and we pray for the completion of this work, and we contribute to it and participate in it with all sincerity.”
