His Holiness Pope Tawadros II met at the Papal Residence in Cairo this Thursday evening, with the priests of the churches of the East Railway Sector in Cairo, and their families, accompanied by H.G. Bishop Martyros, the General Bishop of the sector.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.G. Bishop Martyros thanked His Holiness the Pope for his constant keenness to follow up on service conditions in the sector, and to meet with the priests and check on them, their families, and their service, expressing his and the priests’ happiness with His Holiness’ visit to the Church of the Martyr Saint George in the land of El Geneina the week before last, and to deliver the sermon at Wednesday’s meeting there.

Then His Holiness welcomed the audience, delivered to them a speech, and answered their questions that they addressed to His Holiness after the speech ended. In conclusion, His Holiness distributed gifts to them, and they took memorial photos with His Holiness.

During the past weeks, His Holiness met with the priests of the sectors of Almaza, El Amal City, the east of Nasr City, El Salam City and the Herafyeen, in central Cairo, as part of His Holiness’ follow-up of service work in the pastoral sectors in Cairo.
