H.H. Pope Tawadros II received, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, a group of youth from the Diocese of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia, in the United States of America, who came to Egypt, accompanied by Father Andrew, a priest from the same diocese. They came to provide a number of educational and developmental services in some churches in Cairo, North Egypt, and desert regions.
His Holiness’ meeting with them came before the start of their service. Pope Tawadros praised their enthusiasm for providing services to their brethren in the motherland; Egypt. He was keen to give them some advice, and at the end of the meeting, presented them with souvenirs.
The youth made the most of their trip to the motherland, and visited some archaeological sites and a number of Coptic churches and monasteries.
It is worth noting that this visit was carried out in coordination between the Diocese of Pennsylvania and its affiliated regions, and the “HIGH” office, which specializes in communication between the dioceses of the Coptic Church abroad and the areas most in need of service in the dioceses within Egypt. It is the office for which a decision was issued by the Holy Synod at its last session in March 2024. The office bears the name ” HIGH” which is an abbreviation of its slogan: “Hands in God’s Hand”.
