In 2013, The Papal office for projects (POP); was established by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria & Patriarch of The see of St. Mark. Founded as the Pope’s direct humanitarian office, through which H.H. vision to fight poverty is executed. POP supports projects in different fields of service, placing particular focus on supporting initiatives that promote the provision of quality health and education services, and build capacities within the Coptic Orthodox Church to better serve the world, as well as responding to humanitarian needs.

It also aims to promote and support interventions that contribute to building human capabilities, and enhancing the institutional capacity of the Church to fulfill its mission of serving the world.
Our vision is to provide love in action, as a testimony to the love of Jesus Christ for all.
The office aims to build human capacity with a special focus on improving the provision of health and education services for all. The Pontifical Project Office promotes the construction of education and health care facilities, and provides technical guidance and capacity building to partners for their sustainable management and operation.
Also building partnerships and cooperative initiatives with local and international, governmental and non-governmental entities in order to provide support and services to everyone. It works to empower vulnerable and marginalized groups and help them move from exclusion to inclusion through skills training, small income-generating projects, and by raising awareness.
In 2022, the Papal Office for Projects celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Papal Office for Projects (2013-2022). The establishment of the Papal Office for Projects was one of the first steps to instill the spirit of management and development in the service of the Church, and the office began to pay attention to and encourage the establishment of schools and hospitals. But within ten years, God’s grace was glorified, and the fruits became abundant and widespread throughout the republic, in line with the state’s policy of continuous development efforts.
