His Holiness Pope Tawadros II inaugurated this evening, Monday, the “Shams Elber” service center to serve the youth in the Archangel Michael Church in Kafr Abdo, Alexandria.
The idea of which was laid down by the late Fr Kyrillos Daoud, the first priest of the Church.
The idea of service is to devote servants specialized in communicating the word of God and His true image to all young people of all ages and interests.
The center’s service includes various branches, including apprenticeship service, Angel Radio service, media service, and Angel Employment Center service.
All this aims to create different ways and means to reach the youth.
The opening ceremony began with a prayer of thanksgiving, and His Holiness listened to a speech about the spiritual vision of service under the slogan “Share The Dream With Us” from Father Augustinos Morris, the church’s priest and responsible for the youth service, then H.H. watched small illustrated words about service activities.
Then His Holiness delivered a spiritual speech on the life of consecration, citing the life of St. John Chrysostom, considering that the success of the Church is based on two pillars: consecration and education. After that, H.H. inaugurated the center and inspected its rooms and various service centers.
The ceremony was attended by the general bishops of the districts of Alexandria, Father Abraam Emil, the Patriarchal Vicar in Alexandria, the priests of the church, the deacon’s and its congregation.
